Our Mission

The Austin State Supported Living Center (AuSSLC) Family/Guardian Association advocates on behalf of the residents of the AuSSLC in all matters concerning the care, support, and well-being of those residents.

• We promote and encourage the best possible comprehensive care and protection for those who are residents of the AuSSLC and other SSLCs.

• We advocate for policies which ensure that those individuals under the care of the SSLC system, no matter where they may reside, are always protected from harm.

• We promote and encourage policies which ensure families and guardians are not discouraged nor prohibited by distance or difficulty of travel to have frequent contact with their loved ones.

• We support and nurture a wide variety of campus activities for the residents, staff and family/guardians that allow our loved ones to reach their full potential.
